all good things are worth waiting for. I have been preparing for 6 months and I am finally here. we flew from Detroit to Washington D.C., then onto Ethiopia, and finally onto Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. we left. Saturday afternoon and finally arrived today at 2 pm. As we drove through the city of Kilimanjaro, we were AMAZED at the size of Mount Kilimanjaro. Nearly every teacher said the same thing; we're going to climb THAT! It's absolutely enormous. We are very tired and very happy. I took many pictures today and will attempt to download them for you. (Our wireless connection is a little unpredictable, but as I learned from a missionary worker on the plane ride, Africa is not about being predictable.:)

Hope your birthday was special, in transit! Good news that you made it safely; I will relay to Mom and tell her there's good stuff to see here on the blog, right under her 'Feeds' tab. And look for a way she might be notified when there's a new entry.

I think I see the white shapes of Kilimanjaro! About 1/3 of the way down from the top of the photo, and about 1/3 of the way over from the righthand side. Alot like clouds, but not exactly -- yes I guess more rock-like, more mountainous?
